Description
Offered is a very interesting set of Military and/or Police spurs. This set of spurs are marked " MADE IN NEW ENGLAND " and " STAR STEEL SILVER and the FIVE POINTED STAR ". The STAR is the trade mark for Buermann's STAR STEEL SILVER. Now back to made in New England stamp! August Buermann sold out to North and Judd the Anchor Brand spur and bit maker in 1926. Buermann sold the STAR STEEL SILVER also at that time to Judd. North and Judd Co was set-up in New Britain, Connecticut. Connecticut was one of the six New England states. Buermann was set-up in Newark, NJ. So we can now see that this set of spurs was made by North and Judd after or around 1926. This type of a spur is and was used with the Military and Police horse units. Back to the spurs. They are 5 " in length with a 3 1/2" opening. The shank is 5/8" long. The spur straps look original to the spurs. The straps show age and wear.
