    Description

Nice field used and unit marked WW1 canteen and canteen carrier, the canteen is united marked 319 FA, which would be the 319
    th
Field Artillery. In World War One, the 319
    th
Field Artillery was part of the 82
    nd
Division in WW1. Most of it was part of the 82
    nd
Division, although apparently one battery did also become attached to the 89
    th
Division as well. The canteen carrier is well used and shows it, it appears to be field use actually. It is all intact, the snaps are fine, the metal loop is present on the back too. The front has a faint US stamp, one of the flaps is also stamped, I think, THINK is says 1918 but don’t quote me on that. It is faint. The inside is in good condition. The canteen is the typical WW1 made metal type, with the silver metal cap and a chain, the chain is attached to the canteen yet but detached from the cap. The top of the cap is where this canteen is unit marked, as the pics show. It appears to be a 3, then a space, then it is 319 FA. The first 3 is probably signifying 3
    rd
    Battalion of the 319
    th
    Field Artillery Regiment. The 319
    th
FA was a 155mm Howitzer unit which saw combat starting in the fall of 1918. It’s a great item! It is old and used and shows very typical age and use and storage and handling wear. Please contact me with any questions the pics do not answer.  FREE SHIPPING IN THE USA! PAYMENT REQUIRED WITHIN 5 DAYS OF AUCTION END OR I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO SIMPLY RELIST OR SELL THE ITEM TO A PAYING BUYER. Thanks!
