  • Condition: US Army T Handle Shovel with 1st Artillery RIA Rock Island Arsenal Canvas Cover -- We sell and ship inside the United States only. SHOVEL CONDITION: Part of the Green paint still remains, although a lot of it has worn off. The blade edge is a bit dull, and has some minor nicks, but is in good condition. There is a lot of rust near the tip, and some rust in other areas. Part of the green paint is still visible near the back. The wood handle is sound (not cracked or split). Some of the green paint is still there, though a lot has worn off. The "T" handle is sound, though a lot of the paint is gone. CANVAS COVER CONDITION: - I think the canvas cover originally had a hinged metal loop like you would see on a metal Krag bayonet sheath. The loop is missing, leaving only a rectangular bracket behind. ALSO, the leather retaining strap is missing, though the leather buckle is still in place. The canvas is supple, though it has a lot of old stains.

    -->  This is an original WWI US "T" handle shovel with a canvas cover.
    SHOVEL -  The shovel is stamped "U.S." on both the wood handle and the metal section at the top of the shovel blade itself.
    SHOVEL CONDITION:  Part of the Green paint still remains, although a lot of it has worn off.  The blade edge is a bit dull, and has some minor nicks, but is in good condition.
